WEBVTT 00:00:15.000 --> 00:00:18.000 Hi, I'm Randy Vance. It's a rainy day here at New Smyrna Beach, and I'm on 00:00:18.000 --> 00:00:24.000 Robalo’s brand new R300. This boat is brand new from the keel to the hard top, 00:00:24.000 --> 00:00:28.000 and Robalo has done a great job of bringing it to the water. I like the sleek 00:00:28.000 --> 00:00:33.000 lines. I like the new white color. You know we're so used to side colors that the 00:00:33.000 --> 00:00:38.000 white really stands out especially when taken in conjunction with the black trim on 00:00:38.000 --> 00:00:42.000 the hard top and the black caulk seams. All of that comes together to give you a 00:00:42.000 --> 00:00:48.000 really exciting look. There's plenty of new fishing features on board. The helm is 00:00:48.000 --> 00:00:51.000 extremely comfortable and I want to show you how Robalo brought it all together so 00:00:51.000 --> 00:00:57.000 jump on with me. 00:00:57.000 --> 00:01:00.000 Now the boat performs well and we weren't surprised because it's a Michael Peters 00:01:00.000 --> 00:01:06.000 design. Our test boats equipped with dual 350 horsepower Yamaha motors with those 00:01:06.000 --> 00:01:11.000 motors we made nearly 60 miles an hour. That's an upgrade you can go with dual 00:01:11.000 --> 00:01:16.000 300s and still be running nicely in the mid-50s. save a little bit of money on 00:01:16.000 --> 00:01:21.000 the front end and you still get smooth running Yamaha engines. We like the fact 00:01:21.000 --> 00:01:27.000 that this boat had nice acceleration and were equipped with Lenco automatic trim test 00:01:27.000 --> 00:01:32.000 which automatically level the boat or it's easy to switch them over to manual if 00:01:32.000 --> 00:01:36.000 you want to control the trim yourself. We like the way this helm is set up with 00:01:36.000 --> 00:01:41.000 dual 16-inch Simrad display. We still have the Yamaha command gauge here and that 00:01:41.000 --> 00:01:45.000 gives you the interface for the engines to talk to the Simrads so we can display 00:01:45.000 --> 00:01:49.000 all the engine information either through the Simrads or through this centralized 00:01:49.000 --> 00:01:55.000 gauge. The boat has Yamaha's optional full maneuverability system which includes the 00:01:55.000 --> 00:02:01.000 joystick and autopilot functions that include taking you to your spot and stopping at 00:02:01.000 --> 00:02:05.000 your waypoint spot holding the boat there while you're ready your lines or your 00:02:05.000 --> 00:02:10.000 anchors depending on how you plan to fish. Now Robalo has done a really nice job 00:02:10.000 --> 00:02:15.000 of trimming out this helm for good looks. I like this teak accent here at the helm 00:02:15.000 --> 00:02:20.000 and the heavy-duty triple spoke wheel with the steering knob on it. Now in 30 foot 00:02:20.000 --> 00:02:26.000 boats it's surprising to find a triple wide helm seat and they're positioned really 00:02:26.000 --> 00:02:31.000 nicely so that you can drive this boat either sitting down comfortably with a great 00:02:31.000 --> 00:02:35.000 view forward or standing up. One of the things that you'll notice about the lines 00:02:35.000 --> 00:02:42.000 of the R300 is you've got plenty of rise in the bow to take seas but not so much 00:02:42.000 --> 00:02:46.000 that you can't see over the boat when you're on your hull shot. I think that's a 00:02:46.000 --> 00:02:50.000 really well-designed feature. Here's a nice new addition on the Robalo hard top and 00:02:50.000 --> 00:02:55.000 that's these grab rails. You've got a lot of people at the helm this gives them 00:02:55.000 --> 00:03:00.000 secure place to ride and hang on while you're moving through the seas. Another thing 00:03:00.000 --> 00:03:04.000 that we liked about the boat is we found four inductive chargers on board. There's 00:03:04.000 --> 00:03:09.000 two at the helm and two at the bow for your passengers up there. In addition here 00:03:09.000 --> 00:03:12.000 in this compartment where you're going to be throwing wallets and cell phones as 00:03:12.000 --> 00:03:18.000 well, you've got both 12-volt outlets and USB and USB-C outlets for other charging 00:03:18.000 --> 00:03:23.000 cables. We like the way this windshield is set up. Tap a button and it will rise 00:03:23.000 --> 00:03:28.000 all the way up on these sturdy struts. Perfectly sturdy to run down the seas as 00:03:28.000 --> 00:03:32.000 you wish, but if it's too windy for you, tap that button again and they'll come 00:03:32.000 --> 00:03:38.000 all the way back down. Or one more tap and you can stop it anywhere you want for 00:03:38.000 --> 00:03:42.000 just a little bit of breeze. A lot of times when we jump on board a boat it's 00:03:42.000 --> 00:03:47.000 easy to overlook the stereo, but this one we don't want to overlook. It comes 00:03:47.000 --> 00:03:51.000 standard with two amps, two 10-inch subwoofers. We really like these speakers here 00:03:51.000 --> 00:03:58.000 in the hardtop because it brings the music directly to the skipper and his mates. 00:03:58.000 --> 00:04:03.000 Now a boat like the R300 is built to fish and fish hard. This cockpit is set up 00:04:03.000 --> 00:04:08.000 for fighting fish and to do it at your advantage. Now when you want to bring this 00:04:08.000 --> 00:04:13.000 seat out it does so at the touch of a button. You tap the same button to put it 00:04:13.000 --> 00:04:16.000 away. 00:04:16.000 --> 00:04:20.000 You've got a mezzanine seat here with a large cooler under it. Lift the seat up on 00:04:20.000 --> 00:04:25.000 its articulating hinges. It'll stay out of the way while you rummage around and get 00:04:25.000 --> 00:04:31.000 the cold drink that you want. We've got 56 gallons of live wells here in these two 00:04:31.000 --> 00:04:36.000 28-gallon tanks, one on the starboard, one on the port. Each has its own pump 00:04:36.000 --> 00:04:41.000 system so that gives you plenty of redundancy in case of an emergency. You've also 00:04:41.000 --> 00:04:45.000 got redundancy and a way to bring fish on board either here through the transom 00:04:45.000 --> 00:04:50.000 door or the large port side boarding door which is really handy when you're at the 00:04:50.000 --> 00:04:55.000 dock. It folds inward so it doesn't get in the way and it gives you easy access 00:04:55.000 --> 00:05:00.000 to the cockpit. We've got plenty of rod holders on board as well. There's six 00:05:00.000 --> 00:05:05.000 shotgun rod holders here on the transom. You've also got rod holders on either side 00:05:05.000 --> 00:05:09.000 of this hatch for the bilge and those are cup holder combination rod holders, a 00:05:09.000 --> 00:05:14.000 really nice setup. Also on either side of the mezzanine seats you've got another set 00:05:14.000 --> 00:05:19.000 of rod holders and there are two forward for when you're bottom fishing. When you 00:05:19.000 --> 00:05:23.000 need to store rods you can do that in the hard top and you've got eight rod 00:05:23.000 --> 00:05:28.000 holders up there. In addition, there's tuna stick hangers underneath the gunnels. 00:05:28.000 --> 00:05:33.000 There's plenty of places to carry your weaponry. Now on either side of the mezzanine 00:05:33.000 --> 00:05:38.000 seat, you've got 70 -gallon fish boxes in the floor. Those are macerated so that you 00:05:38.000 --> 00:05:43.000 can drain them easily. But that's not your only option for fish storage. Here in 00:05:43.000 --> 00:05:48.000 the front, you've got insulated boxes underneath the seats that drain overboard. Use 00:05:48.000 --> 00:05:52.000 them for a fish box, use them for cold drinks or for dry storage. Now there's a 00:05:52.000 --> 00:05:56.000 table that goes here in the center and a cushion to go over it to complete a sun 00:05:56.000 --> 00:06:02.000 pad. All the upholstery in this boat is silicone. It's not vinyl. That is more 00:06:02.000 --> 00:06:07.000 impervious and UV resistant. It's durable and it's gonna look good for years. These 00:06:07.000 --> 00:06:11.000 seat backs stow away. You can stow that down here in the helm and here's something 00:06:11.000 --> 00:06:16.000 that's really cool about this boat. They've given us a front entrance to the head 00:06:16.000 --> 00:06:21.000 compartment down below. It's extra wide, extra easy to access it when you get down 00:06:21.000 --> 00:06:25.000 below. You've got an electric flushing head, a freshwater sink, plenty of storage 00:06:25.000 --> 00:06:30.000 plus access to the back of your dash panel so you can maintain all of your 00:06:30.000 --> 00:06:35.000 electronics and all your connections. Now when it comes to maintaining your boat, 00:06:35.000 --> 00:06:40.000 Robalo has made that really easy with this. At the touch of a button You can raise 00:06:40.000 --> 00:06:45.000 this hatch up and it gives you access to all the plumbing and a lot of the wiring 00:06:45.000 --> 00:06:50.000 and your Neema 2000 backbone. You'll see that here near the starboard side, 00:06:50.000 --> 00:06:54.000 you've got a seat chest that feeds your live wells and makes sure that they have 00:06:54.000 --> 00:06:59.000 solid water going in them and not aerated water. In addition, you'll also notice 00:06:59.000 --> 00:07:06.000 here that all of the rod holders are scuppered overboard and tied into that scupper. 00:07:06.000 --> 00:07:10.000 Last in the center hatch, you've got even more access to the mechanics of this boat 00:07:10.000 --> 00:07:16.000 and a space dedicated and ready to receive a sea keeper if you decide you want it. 00:07:16.000 --> 00:07:20.000 Now, Robalo has paid a great deal of attention to what kind of hardware goes on 00:07:20.000 --> 00:07:26.000 this boat. Every hinge on every hatch is a friction hinge. 00:07:26.000 --> 00:07:30.000 Lift the hatch up and it stays where you leave it. It's not going to come down on 00:07:30.000 --> 00:07:36.000 your fingers and you're not dealing with a gas shock that's likely to fail. 00:07:36.000 --> 00:07:41.000 You've also got heavy duty cleats and standard on this boat are fender hangers that 00:07:41.000 --> 00:07:45.000 plug into sockets near the transom. That's going to make it easy for your crew to 00:07:45.000 --> 00:07:49.000 place fenders when you're coming to the dock. Now, Robalo has not just paid a great 00:07:49.000 --> 00:07:53.000 deal of attention to what kind of hardware they've used. They've paid attention to 00:07:53.000 --> 00:07:57.000 how they've installed it. For instance, the transom rod holders that we just 00:07:57.000 --> 00:08:01.000 mentioned. They go all the way across the transom and they give you a better option 00:08:01.000 --> 00:08:06.000 for storing your rods while you're on the fly by keeping them in the transom away 00:08:06.000 --> 00:08:11.000 from the wake spray. When you step through the transom door, you'll see you've got 00:08:11.000 --> 00:08:15.000 a bridge that goes from starboard to port so that you can move around back there 00:08:15.000 --> 00:08:20.000 without stumbling on the rigging and you've got easy access to a four -step boarding ladder 00:08:20.000 --> 00:08:24.000 Here at the port side door that we've already mentioned, there's also a stow away 00:08:24.000 --> 00:08:29.000 ladder that gives you convenient access for diving or swimming. To further ease 00:08:29.000 --> 00:08:32.000 operating the boat at the starboard side of the mezzanine seating is a hatch that 00:08:32.000 --> 00:08:36.000 reveals all your battery switches and your main breakers. At the end of a bloody 00:08:36.000 --> 00:08:40.000 day fishing, you're going to really enjoy the freshwater shower here on the back 00:08:40.000 --> 00:08:45.000 side of the hardtop, and at nighttime you've got a courtesy light that projects 00:08:45.000 --> 00:08:50.000 the Robalo logo right onto the deck. Now the R300 brings together a beautiful set 00:08:50.000 --> 00:08:56.000 of features for fishing, for recreation, and it all comes in a good-looking package. 00:08:56.000 --> 00:09:01.000 If you're in the market for a 30-foot center console to fish and explore with your 00:09:01.000 --> 00:09:05.000 family, the R300 is one you ought to be taking a look at. I'm Randy Vance in 00:09:05.000 --> 00:09:10.000 New Smyrna Beach with Robalo.
